About alghat

Al Ghat is one of the northern governorates of the Riyadh region, through which the paved highway ( Riyadh-Sudair - Qassim - Medina) passes, and its area is more than 4000 km2, and Al Ghat is characterized by the diversity of its geographical nature; between the dense Sands (ancient countries), the AL Arad plateaus (Tuwaiq mountains), plains (Hamada, level) in addition to valleys and reefs Multiplicity. The name Ghat came-apparently-from the sounds and noise that pervade the ghat Valley during the flow of torrents in it.

The governorate is characterized by natural and archaeological sites, such as: Khashm Al-araniya, qalta, Halifa, Deira, zeiliya, murqab, Bir al-Hatiya, and others. Al Ghat governorate is one of the agricultural regions in the kingdom known for the quality of date palms in it due to the availability of water, fertile soil and the suitability of the atmosphere in it.

Despite the long time that the founder spent away from Al-Ghat, this did not distract him from it, and based on his desire, his sons and daughters established in the year 1424 Ah (2003 ad), a cultural center in Al-Ghat governorate, named Dar Al-RahmaniyaIt is a branch of the Abdulrahman al-Sudairi Charitable Foundation, which has an independent endowment, and its goals emanate from the basic goals of the Abdulrahman Al-Sudairi Cultural Center.

Dar Al-Rahmaniya is located in the middle of the araniya Orchard; the farm that the founder stopped on 3/6/1407 ah for his parents – God forgive them – and the proceeds are poured into financing Dar Al-Rahmaniya.

Its design took into account the surrounding rural environment in Al-Ghat; it appeared with a nejdi character, manifested by Clay buildings and nejdi arches, and the mosque with an open Chapel on the courtyard.

Perhaps the most prominent feature of Dar Al-Rahmaniya building is the use of natural materials in construction; most of them are from the local environment, such as: straw cubes (bales of local hay) as the basic unit in the construction of walls and ventilation towers, with clay cover, palm and wood strips in the ceilings, and gas stone in the building's geotextiles and adjacent areas, in addition to the use of The ceiling of the lecture hall.

This style of architecture – in addition to the aesthetic element and its distinctive Najdi character – raised the thermal insulation properties of the building, and reduced the costs of electrical energy used for cooling, which strengthened its relationship with the originality of traditional construction in heritage Ghat buildings. It really sums up the core message of the center.
